Anthrax Suspect Failed 3 Polygraph Tests

On Aug 13, 2002 Nicholas D. Kristof focused suspicion on Steven J. Hatfill, the scientist being investigated in by the FBI in conjunction with the anthrax attacks, by reporting in his column "The Anthrax Files," that Hatfill had " failed three successive polygraph examinations since January, and canceled plans for another polygraph exam two weeks ago."
