In my article in the New York Review of Books, I erred
in describing the time length but not the content of
a victory dance that took place in the loading dock
of the Sofitel Hotel in New York City on May 14th 2011.
This dance occurred at 1:34 p.m. which was approximately
3 minutes after a 911 call was received by New York
City’s emergency services. That call, which was
delayed by an hour, resulted in the arrest of Dominque
Strauss Kahn and ended his chances of being elected
the next President of France.
What we see?
The crucial part of the train of events between 1:33
p.m, and 1:35 p.m. is captured on two time stamped CCTV
security camera. Here
is what we see on the first camera. Nafissatou Diallo
the maid on the 28th floor, who had about one hour earlier
alleged that she had been sexually assaulted by Dominque
Strauss Kahn, sits on a bench across from the security
booth. Just after 1:33 p.m, a well-dressed man enters
and exits the security booth . Meanwhile, a 911 call
to the police is being made by Adrian Branch, a licensed
security guard, who is in the security booth.
Outside the booth, at 1:33, the well-dressed man approaches
a larger man standing in front of the security booth.
The larger man turns to follows him into the loading
dock area, where there is a motion-activated security
camera.
On this second tape, we see both men talk then engage
in a wild dance. It begins with the well-dressed man
extending five fingers. At one point, the larger man
lifts the well-dressed man off the floor. The dance
portion itself last for 13 seconds. Just after 1:35
pm both men exit the room.

Although the men themselves say they cannot remember
what they were celebrating, it has be said in
the media they were celebrating a baseball game.
